FSC, the Forest Stewardship Council, is the world’s fastest growing forest certification. CWP is FSC-certified and can help you build sustainably and respect the industry’s strictest environmental norms.
Why FSC?The FSC standard is the world’s strictest forest certification. They remain the only organization supported by Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) as of now. CWP chose the FSC standard not only because of its growing popularity but because it is aligned with its moral requirements in terms of environmental policies.
Canada’s forests account for more than 25% of the world’s certified forests. It’s about time we realize the possibilities wood offers on top of its structural benefits.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is to green building as FSC is to sustainable forest management. The LEED standard certifies the compliance to sustainable building requirements. In all, 70 points are available to obtain either a Certified, Silver, Gold or Platinum degree of certification and 17 points out of the 70 related to the use of wood.
CWP can partner with you to better understand and adapt to what will soon become industry standard.
