AbitibiBowater wants to sell former mill site in Kenora

AbitibiBowater is seeking the court's approval to sell the site of the former pulp and paper mill in Kenora, Ontario.

The property is 160 hectares in size. The mill was demolished in 2009.

A numbered company, that is an affiliate of Imperial Trading Corporation, wishes to purchase the property for $6 million. This company verbally offered to purchase this property 3 years ago, on the condition that the mill was demolished and all environmental remediation was completed.

The mill closed in January of 2006.
