A gypsy moth aerial spray program is beginning in Richmond, British Columbia this week with hopes of killing off a infestation of gypsy moths.
Foray 48R will be sprayed from low-flying aircraft over northern parts of the city. Ground spraying will occur to target another infestation in Harrison, B.C. (located in the Fraser Valley).
Foray 48R is a water based formulation containing Bacillus thuringiensis var kurstaki (Btk). As a biological spray, it is not harmful to people, pets, fish, birds, or insects.
