Catalyst Paper ends tax feud

This week Catalyst Paper abandoned its appeal of the British Columbia Supreme Court decision in which Mr. Justice Voith upheld the legal validity of the City of Port Alberni’s 2009 Tax Rates Bylaw.

In addition, Catalyst Paper has paid the full amount of their 2009 tax bill.

Payment of the outstanding 2009 taxes will be used to pay back reserves and monies borrowed to cover the City’s operating costs in 2009.
