A Quebec court has approved of the sale of AbitibiBowater's newsprint mill, planer, sawmill, and timber rights in Mackenzie, British Columbia, to Conifex.
Some conditions still apply to the sale, such as financial paperwork, first Nations consultation, and permitting transfer processes, but the deal is expected to go through, and close by the end of June.
Conifex plans to sell the newsprint plant. The two sawmills will be combined and modernized into one operation.
