The Communications, Energy and Paperworkers Union of Canada (CEP) has achieved the eastern pattern collective bargaining settlement for the pulp and paper sector for the Georgia Pacific mill in Niagara Falls. Ratification meetings will be held in mid-October.
The agreement follows the pattern adopted by CEP Local representatives at last spring's pulp and paper pattern bargaining conference in Montreal. Mill and office workers, members of Local 192, have a tentative five-year agreement, expiring April 30, 2014 with no wage increases for the first three years, 1% in the fourth, and 1.5% in the fifth year.
