An environmental hearing was scheduled to begin in May to determine who is responsible for the environmental clean-up of the dormant pulp mill in Marathon, Ontario.
Tembec, who co-owned the mill before it went bankrupt last March, is fighting a provincial order that requires it be in care and control of the vacant property.
The hearing is expected to last 5 weeks, but both Tembec and the Ontario Ministry of the Environment have said they require more time to prepare their case. As a result, the hearing has been postponed.
August 23rd is now the scheduled start date for the environmental hearing.
