ven 09 avr 2010 06:52:11 EDT

The Buchanan Group is indicating it wants to restart 3 of its 9 mills in Northwestern Ontario before the end of May.

We had already heard of their plan to restart the Mackenzie Forest Product mill in Hudson.

In addition, Buchanan wants to restart Long Lake Forest Products in Longlac with 80 employees.

Terrace Bay Pulp is the other mill that the company plans to restart. Within a few weeks of restarting, Buchanan wants to have Terrace Bay Pulp operating 24/7.

The time table for reopening might be affected by creditor and financing issues. Terrace Bay Pulp is under creditor protection until the end of April.

Wood tenure will be another issue, and investor's concerns regarding the wood tenure will need to be solved. The province of Ontario is currently evaluating proposals for about 11million cubic meters of wood.

The Buchanan Group also indicated there may be good news for in the future for their additional facilities.
