Decker Lake Forest Products, owned by Hampton Affiliates, suffered a recent electrical fire at their lumber mill in British Columbia.
"The fire occurred in a control box in the cut off saw in the sawmill," noted David Garcia, regional manager of Canadian operations for Hampton Affiliates. "There was damage to the electrical components, but the repairs to this are now nearly complete."
The fire occurred in a section of the mill that was on a 2-week layoff so there has been no effect on the operations.
The damage is minimal so the the company expects work to resume after the 2-week layoff as expected.
