Fibrestick Manufacturing is a small company in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario that manufactures value-added wood products.
Today, the provincial government of Ontario has announced funding of $100,000 for Fibrestick Manufacturing through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation's Enterprise North Job Creation Program.
Fibrestick currently produces packing and bracing materials for the lumber industry. With the new funding, the company will diversify their product line by adding a cut and paint line for door jambs and mouldings for door jams.
“The provincial government’s commitment to investment in local businesses through the NOHFC’s Enterprise North Job Creation Program is providing more and more northerners with the opportunity to work and live in the North,” said Ryan Connolly, Fibrestick owner. “I was pleased to hear that Ontario committed an additional $10 million in this year’s budget to the NOHFC, which will go towards helping more Northern entrepreneurs set up businesses in the community and strengthen the North’s economy.”
Fibrestick has been in operation for more than 10 years and employs less than a dozen employees.
