MPP wants Ontario to prevent sale of hydro dams in Iroquois Falls

Gilles Bisson, Ontario Member of Provincial Parliament for Timmins-James Bay, wants Ontario to block AbitibiBowater from selling the dams in Iroquois Falls.

Bisson said the Iroquois Falls pulp and paper mill is one of AbitibiBowater's most efficient operations because it can generate its own hydro power using the dams.

There has been on-going fear in the community that AbitibiBowater will sell off the mill's power dams to the private sector during the company's current restructuring process.
